The Great Lakes Transportation Enterprise Institute (GLTEI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting safe, efficient, and cost-effective highway and other surface transportation in Wisconsin and the Great Lakes region through innovative research and development. GLTEI was formed in 2009 with the goal to successfully collaborate nationally and internationally by leveraging the collective strengths of the Great Lakes megaregion’s public and private transportation and mobility sectors. We aim to create partnerships for innovation, green technology, and work force sustainability that exemplify the triple helix (government-university-industry) model of organizational development (Etzkowitz 1993).
Creating ideas, products, and services to develop smarter, cleaner, more energy efficient technology to improve our mobility future.
The feature initiative of GLTEI is the USDOT-designated Wisconsin Automated Vehicle Proving Grounds (WiscAV.org), exemplifying the triple helix approach to advancing innovative mobility.
